An expert game award, news about Cantaloop - Book 1: Breaking into prison and all information about Lookout's Christmas holidays!

Expedition to Newdale has won the "Spiele-Hit für Experten" (hit game for experts) award by the Wiener Spiele Akademie (Austrian Game Academy)!

On December 4th, the Wiener Spiele Akademie (Austrian Game Academy) held their annual award ceremony for the Austrian game awards. Due to the current situation, the ceremony had to be held online. A recording of the live stream can be watched on the Ludovico, Landesludothek Steiermark YouTube channel (German only!).

We want to thank the Wiener Spiele Akademie (Austrian Game Academy) for honoring Expedition to Newdale by renowned designer Alexander Pfister and are very happy that his game is so well received!

Cantaloop - Book 1: Breaking into prison available in the U.K.

While all other "Point & Click" fans have to be patient some more and Cantaloop - Book 1: Breaking into prison will not be available before January 2021 in general, U.K. gamers are very lucky these days. Despite the current situation, the vessel with the U.K. games on board rushed to its destination and has already arrived! As a result, our colleagues at Asmodee UK are pretty sure that the games will hit stores this week! So, if you live in the U.K. and are a "Point & Click Adventure" fan and you like puzzles and a good story, wait no more and head over to your favorite game store to get your hands on this one-of-a-kind gaming experience.

Lookout will start its annual Christmas holidays soon!

Like every year, we are eager to make sure that our colleagues are getting their well deserved Christmas holidays. Therefore we are going to close down our Online Shop, the replacement part service and our office. The Online Shop and the replacement part service will be first in order to make sure that all ordered packages will be sent before Christmas:

Unfortunately we had to find out that we introduced a misprint with the new Salmon Deck expansion for Nusfjord. The number showing with how many players the new elder card should be used, as well as the number which defines which elder card from the base game should be replaced are wrong. Correctly they should show "12" (which means that the elder card with number 12 from the base game should be replaced with the new one) and "4 - 5". A correction PDF can be found on the expansions sub-page:

Everyone owning one (or more) of the expansion decks for Agricola (Revised Edition) might have already stumbled upon the additional rule clarification on the side of the box. It explains the "Unconditional Sow Action" in detail (an action which does not exist in the base game and is therefore never explained in the rule book). Now there is rumor that some people store their expansions in the base game box and don't have acces to the expansions box all the time . As a result, we added a new PDF to the download section of all four expansions which contains exactly this rule clarification:

Our last, but not least, new release of 2020 is literally a BIG one:

With a box like Caverna, a theme like Agricola, and designed by the same guy: Uwe Rosenberg's latest strike of genius, Hallertau, combines new and old mechanics alike to create a completely new gaming experience! The “Worker Placement” mechanism receives an upgrade, as it is now possible to use an action space multiple times, for a higher price, of course, instead of simply blocking it. Sheep still serves as a source of wool and milk income but they age over the course of the game and, eventually, they die. Plus, cultivation gets more involved: frequently used fields yield less and less resources, whereas fallow fields increase in efficiency over time. All that combined with a new card mechanism that allows you to play a bunch of cards at any time to gain the edge. Interested in learning more?
